I am most interested in painting the human form. I aim to simplify the figure in effort to create a more powerful work. I experience a joy, mystery and intimacy with live models like nothing else. I realize now that this act of connection and painting another human is a meditation and spiritual in nature.

Jacobs gained world recognition after completing his fine art portrait of Senator Barack Obama, entitled "Someday has come", during his campaign for President in 2008. Subsequently, Jacobs painted this portrait of comedian-actor Bill Murray in 2015 entitled "There's Always Hope".
